Welcome to 8th-grade English! In this course, we'll be exploring a variety of literature, including novels, short stories, and poems. We will be focusing on developing critical reading and analysis skills, as well as improving our writing abilities. Throughout the year, we will be working on a variety of writing assignments, including creative writing, argumentative and research papers. By the end of the year, you'll have a strong foundation of English Language Arts skills that will serve you well in high school.

For journalism classes, this is the first year our junior high students will be taking on a newsletter. Students will brainstorm ideas, gather information, write articles and learn about the world of publishing and journalism. Newsletters will be published periodically.
